My Emphasis
There are advisers, there are counsellors. A man may offer you wise counsel today, but offer you evil counsel tomorrow. The heart of man is evil all the time. This is why you can only trust in the Father alone. Many Christians have yielded to the advice given to them by their fellow Christians, and today, they're lamenting everywhere they go.
The Bible says in the Book of Jeremiah 17:9-10 that, "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it? I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings." The Bible says again in the Book of I Samuel 16:23 that, "Now the advice of Ahithophel, which he gave in those days, was as if one had inquired at the oracle of God. So was all the advice of Ahithophel both with David and with Absalom." And 1 Samuel 15:31 says, "Then someone told David, saying, "Ahithophel is among the conspirators with Absalom." And David said, "O Lord, I pray, turn the counsel of Ahithophel into foolishness!"" This same Ahithophel had once been a great counsellor to David, but when the king's son rebelled against him, he also turned against the king. He who offers you good counsel today may offer you evil counsel tomorrow. This is why you shouldn't entrust your life into the hands of any man but into the hands of the Father alone.
Beloved, any man can betray you, but Jesus Christ will never betray you. You don't know the heart of your fellow man, nor does he know yours, but there is Someone who knows the heart of both of you. This is the only Person you should seek advice from because He will never lead you astray. I pray for you today that Jesus Christ will continue to paddle the canoe of your life and drive you safely to the shore in the end, in Jesus' name. Amen! May the Lord give you the grace to walk with Him in Jesus' name.
